Professional Category Winner 2025: Lyudmila Sikhosana

Lyudmila's oil painting was a stand out fur the judges and a unanimous decision by the panel. Lyudmila grew up in Ukraine and graduated in Rostov-on-Don, Pedagogical University in Russia.

She predominately works in the figurative impressionist style, working mainly in oil and is inspired by the local nature and gardens of Cambridgeshire. Her work has been exhibited at the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy, and the Mall Galleries in London.

 

Emerging Artist Category Winner 2025: Kathryn Fisher

Red Hot Pokers in the East Garden

Thee judging panel were immediately drawn to the colours and perspective of this ambitious large artwork. Kathryn, winner of the Emerging Artist category, and won this with a beautiful painting of the East Garden, focusing on the drama of the red hot pokers against a backdrop of the old Victorian greenhouse.

Kathryn lives locally in the village and has been heavily involved in local politics, running as the Green Party candidate for the Histon and Impington ward in the Cambridgeshire County Council elections for 2025.
