Charity Work & Giving: Making Every Event Count
A Personal Commitment from the Owners
The decision to dedicate 10% of every booking to charitable causes comes from the heart. As the owners of Histon Manor, we have always believed that every event should create value not just for guests, but for the wider community.
We wanted to ensure that every event contributes to something meaningful. This personal commitment led to the launch of our 10% Giving Ethos in 2026, building on our fundraising since 2019, which has already raised £38,000 for charities that make a real difference.
By embedding this philosophy into the heart of the Manor, I hope every guest feels that their event is part of a wider story of generosity, community, and lasting impact.
Our Approach to Giving
Our new giving model is simple, transparent, and purposeful:
10% of every booking goes directly to charity, making your event part of a wider mission for good.
In November each year we carefully select a charity for our ‘Histon Manor Charity of the Year’ after several meetings and visits to ensure our chosen charity is a strong, robust and efficient charity with the maximum amount of funds raised going directly the charity’s goal and not lost in unquantifiable overheads.
Previous charities we have fundraised for include EACH (East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices) and Break Charity, and for 2026, we are proudly supporting the Cambridge Acorn Project.
By embedding this giving ethos into the heart of our venue, we create a tangible, trust-building point of difference. Histon Manor is not just a venue—it is a space where every celebration contributes to positive change.
Highlighting Our Community Impact
Beyond charitable donations, Histon Manor actively engages with the local community through charity open days and events. This is another key part of our fundraising for our chosen charity with 100% of profits from these events going directly to the charity. Histon Manor takes no income from any of these events.
Highlights from 2025 include:
Snowdrop Open Day: An annual event inviting visitors to enjoy the beauty of our gardens in early spring with its carpets of snowdrops.
Outdoor Summer Sounds Concert: A Bridgerton Style String Quarter Concert
Cambridgeshire Plein Air Artist of the Year Art Competition: celebrating creativity across Cambridgeshire with 75 artists on site painting in the grounds.
Dahlia and Village Show: With over 100 cake and dahlia entries and 700 visitors we raised £3000.00 for our charity from this on event.
These events allow the community to experience our historic manor in a meaningful way, creating shared memories while reinforcing our commitment to giving back.
