Info for Local Residents for 2026 and 2027 Events at Histon Manor - Update posted 08/June/2026

Hello neighbours,

I just wanted to share a quick update about weddings and events at Histon Manor, along with the dates of the remaining later-night weddings taking place in 2026 and 2027.

Firstly, thank you for all your support over the last four years. Since we started hosting weddings, we have limited later-night celebrations to a maximum of five each year, with a strict music cut-off time, and we've stuck to that every year.

This year's bank holiday wedding (24th May) was held on the hottest day we've ever hosted a wedding in the four years we've been running events at Histon Manor. I'm conscious that we're all being told our summers are only likely to get hotter and when it's that warm, people understandably want their windows open, to enjoy their gardens in the evenings and make the most of the sunshine. Sound also carries differently in those still, warm conditions.

With this in mind, I've decided that we won't be taking any further bookings for later-night wedding celebrations or any other late-night events at Histon Manor. I've also cancelled all future viewings for this type of event.

That means there are just three remaining later-night weddings this year, and one already pre booked for summer 2027.This was booked back in November 2025. That final wedding will finish at the earlier time of 11pm rather than 11.30pm.

Our focus is on making sure these remaining weddings are managed as thoughtfully as possible for everyone. The families involved have spent between 12 and 18 months planning their celebrations, and these are incredibly important and emotional occasions for them and we want them to be perfect. As always, we'll continue to monitor sound levels throughout events, walk the boundaries, work with our sound engineer and do everything we can to minimise noise.

We're also planning to make that final 2027 wedding a major fundraiser for our chosen charity for 2027 as hosting fewer events moving forward means less money flowing to our local charities. Rather than donating our usual 10% of booking revenue, we'll be donating all of our 2027 fee from that wedding. We're also hoping many of our wonderful suppliers for that event will get involved and make donations too to match our £5,000 contribution. Together, we're aiming to raise around £10,000 for charity through that single 2027 celebration, which feels like a lovely way to round off this chapter.

Going forward, we will no longer host wedding receptions. However, we'll still be very happy to host drinks receptions in the grounds for couples getting married at local churches and allow photography for couples looking for post church shots. Histon Manor has been important to many local families getting married over the last 4 years, and we're delighted we'll still be able to offer a mini slice of that to couples but in a different way that has limited impact on neighbours. Alongside this, Histon Manor will continue to host its afternoon corporate garden parties, charity events and community activities which all usually end by 7.30pm.

How many later-night weddings have you held each year in the past?

A maximum of five per year for the last four years in line with council permissions.

Will there be any later-night weddings after June 19th 2027?

No. The June 2027 wedding is the final later-night wedding celebration already booked at Histon Manor, and we are not taking any further bookings for this type of event.

We work with a professional sound engineer, monitor sound levels throughout events, walk the boundaries regularly and provide clear guidance to DJs and bands. Event staff and security are also on site throughout celebrations.

What events will Histon Manor host in future?

Drinks receptions, afternoon celebrations, garden parties, community events and charity fundraising activities, with events usually finishing no later than 7.30pm.

Who can I contact if I have any questions?

Thank you again for all your support over the last four years. We feel incredibly lucky to be part of this community and are very grateful for the kindness and encouragement so many neighbours have shown us.

Fingers crossed for the weather this Saturday, 13th June, when we have 100 artists coming to sit and paint for the day as part of Year Two of our Cambridgeshire Plein Air Artist of the Year Award. The 2026 event alone has raised just under £3,000 for the Cambridge Acorn Project.

Please come and say hello at the Histon Feast on Sunday 28th June where we will be sharing a stall with the Cambridge Acorn Project launching our raffle prize of ‘Champagne Afternoon Tea for 8 at Histon Manor’ where I will be waiting on the winner hand and foot making sure a memorable occasion is had by all in our dining room. Tickets on sale soon.

I hope this update is helpful. If you ever have any concerns or questions, please do feel free to get in touch by emailing me on histonmanor@gmail.com.

Very best wishes,
