Info for Local Residents for 2026 Events at Histon Manor
Hello neighbours,
I just wanted to share a quick update about later-night weddings and events at Histon Manor this summer 2026, and to give you some advance notice of dates, along with reassurance about how these are managed.
We feel really lucky to be part of this community, and it’s very important to us that what we do here doesn’t negatively impact those living nearby as I worry about this A LOT! If you have any feedback I will do my very best to take it on board. I have a fixed limit to later evening wedding celebrations or events to just five each year and we don’t take any bookings above this — this has been our approach for the past three years with 5 a year.
All our events go through the proper council permissions, including Temporary Event Notices (listed below), and I work with a professional sound engineer to make sure everything stays within the agreed limits. We always have an event planner on site keeping an eye on sound levels, and DJs and bands are given clear guidance pre events to ensure our guidelines are met. If we work with any supplier who doesn’t adhere to our guidelines then we do have a policy where they can’t return.
At the end of the evening, we also have a cheery security team on hand to help guests leave in an orderly way and as quietly as possible.
For 2026, as in previous years:
Music will finish at 11:30pm
Late-night events take place on weekends or bank holidays only
We avoid booking back-to-back late-night weddings on consecutive weekends
2026 late-night event dates and Temp Event Notices:
May
• Sunday 24th May TE287098
June
• Saturday 6th June TE287525
• Saturday 27th June TE288194
July
• Saturday 18th July TE292082
September
• Saturday 5th September TE291406
I’m sharing this in advance so you know exactly when these occasions are planned, and to reassure you that they are limited and carefully managed.
Looking ahead to 2027, we’re planning to reduce the number of late-night wedding events further to around 3–4 per year, and instead focus more on corporate garden parties, which typically finish much earlier (around 9pm). Our aim is to find the best possible balance between hosting events and being mindful of our neighbours.
We also want to make sure the events here give something back — last year we raised £16,800 for Break Charity, and this year we’re supporting the Cambridge Acorn Project. Please note 10% of all our bookings including the wedding bookings go to charity, alongside funds raised through our community events, which many of you kindly support. For more info on this please see Our Charity Work and Giving Pledge.
Our upcoming charity events include Year Two of our Cambridgeshire Plein Air Artist of the Year Award, so please do encourage any budding or amateur artists to enter!
We’re also planning a few fun summer mornings on the lawns at Histon Manor, including charity Tai Chi and open-air Pilates sessions, to raise funds for the Cambridge Acorn Project. Dates TBC.
Later in the year, we’ll be launching an annual raffle with a prize for 8 guests to enjoy an afternoon champagne tea at Histon Manor. Tickets will be on sale soon until November 2026. I look forward to serving the winners a glass of fizz — it could be you!
We hope this update is helpful. If you ever have any concerns or questions, please do feel free to get in touch at histonmanor@gmail.com.
Very best wishes
Katherine (Mann)
FAQs for 2026 Late Night Events
What time does music finish?
1
We have a super strict music cut off at 11.30pm after which guests are asked to leave the site. This will change to 11pm from 2027 to minimise residents disturbance.
How many late night events will you have a year?
2
We will not have more than 5 events per year where music finishes later than 8pm. The late night events will take place between May and September 2026 hosted in marquees on our grounds.
Is this business or fundraising?
3
While these later night events at Histon Manor is definitely a business venture, we take our corporate social responsibility very seriously — I think far more so than any other venue in Cambridgeshire and I’m super proud of our charity work. Income from events is reinvested into the grounds to improve them for charity open days and community use, and 10% of every wedding booking goes directly to charity.
